Landscapes in Transitions Tour: Autumn Plantings & Overwinter Maintenance & Planning

  • Location given after sign up (map)

Are you interested in adding native plants to your yard and gardens? Home Earth Alliance is excited to introduce a new education series: Landscapes in Transition Tours! Join native landscape design and plant experts for a series of 6 on-site lectures at native gardens in the Capital Region. Learn why autumn is the best time to start, how to prepare your garden beds, and how to maintain your native gardens in all phases of development and across the seasons. This is the last tour of 2024, they will pick back up again in April 2025.

Speaker: Kate Brittenham, HEA Co-Founder, Landscape Designer, and Co-Author “Designing Gardens with Flora of the American East”

Discuss native plants that have spectacular fall color and ecological value and how to care for your native gardens as we transition to winter months.  Topics will include what wildlife can benefit from your fall and winter gardens, whether to cut back, splitting and transplanting, mulching and leaf cover, and planning for the spring.

Tickets are $25 per event. Registration is limited to 20. Home Earth Alliance Members will receive a 10% discount! Details & locations will be provided to registrants. Lectures & tours run Sundays from 12 - 2 PM.

Our Landscapes in Transition Tours will take place August 2024 through June 2025 to highlight native plant gardens in various stages of growth.

Tickets available at here.
